      GRL-PD-C2-EPR - Software Version 1.6.39.0 Release Announcement

      Granite River Labs Inc. (GRL) is pleased to announce the software release for the USB
      Power Delivery and USB Type-C® Tester and Analyzer.

      C2-EPR USB Power Delivery and USB Type-C® Tester and Analyzer software & firmware versions:
      Software version                       : 1.6.39.0
      Firmware version                      : 1.3.42
      Eload Firmware version           : 1.5
      PPS Firmware version             : 4.0

      Key updates:

      • Support added for USB PD CTS Q4 2025. 
      • Support added for Type C Functional tests 0.91. 
      • Support added for VIF Tool v3.14.0.0 
      • Compliance updated to support USB PD Specification 3.2, Version 1.1. 


      Note:       Effective January 2025, the GRL USB Power Delivery and USB Type-C™ Test Software will exclusively support the GRL-USB-PD-C2-EPR hardware. As a result of updated specification requirements, the GRL-USB-PD-C2 hardware will no longer receive software updates. Users can continue to operate the GRL-USB-PD-C2 hardware with the GRL USB Power Delivery and USB Type-C™ Test Software version SW v1.6.28.0, which remains available for download at link. For assistance with upgrading your GRL-USB-PD-C2 to the latest GRL-USB-PD-C2-EPR hardware, please contact GRL support.


      Issues addressed:

      • COMMON.CHECK.PD.11 - Improved validation to handle the Bit0...6 (Source rated PDP) in Source Capability Extended Message.
      • TD.4.10.6 - Enhanced configuration to handle the Discover Identity message during the ALT mode sequence.
      • TEST.PD.PS.SNK.1 - Adjusted validation to ensure the proper current validation based on the previous contracted current.
      • TD.4.2.5 - Improved validation to handle the VBUS voltage measurement during Attach condition.
      • TEST.PD.VDM.SNK.1 - Enhanced validation to handle the response for Discover SVID if SVID fixed SOP is set to No.
      • TEST.PD.EPR.SNK3.1 - Improved validation to handle the Message ID of SOP’ message during the EPR enter flow.
      • TC.10.7.2 - Adjusted configuration to handle the Structure VDM version for Discover Identity message.
      • TD.4.3.1 - Enhanced validation to handle the disable state during the voltage drop sequence.

      Known issues:

      Software generated VIF is not compatible with the USB-IF VIF generator tool.

       

      Instructions to update the software:

      • Download the software from here

      • Run the installer and follow the instructions on the screen.

      • After installing the software, update the firmware of your GRL-USB-PD-C2/C2-EPR before running any tests.

      • If you experience any issues with the installation procedure, please submit a ticket for assistance.
