      GRL-PD-C2-EPR - Software Version 1.6.38.0 Release Announcement

      Granite River Labs Inc. (GRL) is pleased to announce the software release for the USB
      Power Delivery and USB Type-C® Tester and Analyzer.


      C2-EPR Software & firmware versions as below:
      Software version      : 1.6.38.0
      Firmware version     : 1.3.38
      Eload FW version    : 1.5
      PPS FW version       : 4.0

      Key updates:

      1. Support added for USB PD CTS Q3 2025.
      2. Support added for Type C Functional tests 0.91.
      3. Support added for VIF Tool v3.14.0.0 
      4. Compliance updated to support USB PD Specification 3.2, Version 1.1. 

      Note: Effective January 2025, the GRL USB Power Delivery and USB Type-C™ Test Software will exclusively support the GRL-USB-PD-C2-EPR hardware. As a result of updated specification requirements, the GRL-USB-PD-C2 hardware will no longer receive software updates. Users can continue to operate the GRL-USB-PD-C2 hardware with the GRL USB Power Delivery and USB Type-C™ Test Software version SW v1.6.28.0, which remains available for download at link. For assistance with upgrading your GRL-USB-PD-C2 to the latest GRL-USB-PD-C2-EPR hardware, please contact GRL support.

      • COMMON.CHECK.PD.4 - Enhanced Configuration to handle the Request Message after FR Swap sequence.

      • COMMON.CHECK.PD.5 - Improved validation to handle the Hard Reset message after DR_Swap in USB4 mode.

      • COMMON.CHECK.PD.2 - Adjusted validation to ensure proper handling of specification revision for Soft Reset message.

      • TEST.PD.EPR.SNK3.12 - Improved validation to handle the Reject Message response for EPR Request message in EPR Mode.

      • COMMON.PROC.PD.6 - Enhanced validation to handle the response for VCONN Swap message.

      • TEST.PD.FRS.SNK3.3 - Improved validation to handle the Error Recovery timing after the FR Swap signal.

      • COMMON.CHECK.PD.7 - Improved validation to handle the SPR AVS PDO in the Source capability Message.

      • TEST.PD.PROT.PORT3.1 - Enhanced validation to handle the Invalid battery reference bit in Battery Status response message.

      • TEST.PD.PS.SNK.1 - Adjusted validation to ensure the proper current validation based on the previous contracted current.
