Granite River Labs Inc. (GRL) is pleased to announce the software release for the USB
Power Delivery and USB Type-C® Tester and Analyzer.
C2 Software & firmware versions are as below:
Software version : 1.6.26.0
Firmware version : 2.2.55
Eload version : 9.8
C2-EPR Software & firmware versions as below:
Software version : 1.6.26.0
Firmware version : 1.2.55
Eload FW version : 1.5
PPS FW version : 4.0
Key updates:
- The tester has been updated to support full USB PD CTS Q3 2024.
- The tester supports latest VIF tool version 3.10.0.0.
- The tester updates align with USB PD Specification 3.2 Version 1.0.
- The software support for C2 will end on December 2024.
Issues addressed:
- TEST.PD.EPR.SRC3.8- Tester validation updated to handle the EPR request message
- TEST.PD.PHY.ALL.1- Tester validation updated to handle the Captive cable emarker test condition.
- TEST.PD.PROT.SNK3.5- Tester validation updated to handle the APDO Request message.
- COMMON.PROC.PD3.2- Tester validation updated to handle the EPR Source capability message.
- COMMON.CHECK.PD.2- Tester validation updated to handle the Bit5 (Port Data Role) in FR Swap sequence.
- TEST.PD.USB4.EUSB.4- Tester configuration updated to handle the Bit23…21(VDO Version) in SOP’ discover ID ACK message.
- COMMON.CHECK.PD3.4- Tester validation updated to handle the EPR Sink Capability message.

TEST.PD.PS.EPR.SRC3.2- Tester validation updated to handle the Request message for SPR AVS PDO.
- COMMON.CHECK.PD.7- Tester validation updated to handle the SPR AVS PDO in PD2 Mode.

COMMON.PROC.PD.6- Tester validation updated to handle the VCONN Swap Sequence in EPR mode.
Known issues:
Software generated VIF is not compatible with the USB-IF VIF generator tool.
Instructions to update the software:

Download the software from https://graniteriverlabs.com/download-center/

Run the installer and follow the instructions on the screen.

After installing the software, update the firmware of your GRL-USB-PD-C2/C2-EPR before running any tests.
