Granite River Labs Inc. (GRL) is pleased to announce the software release for the USB
Power Delivery and USB Type-C® Tester and Analyzer.
C2-EPR USB Power Delivery and USB Type-C® Tester and Analyzer software & firmware versions:
Software version : 1.6.31.0
Firmware version : 1.2.85
Eload Firmware version : 1.5
PPS Firmware version : 4.0
Key updates:
- Support added for USB PD CTS Q1 2025.
- Support added for loading VIF files generated using VIF Tool v3.11.0.0.
- Solution updated to support USB PD Specification 3.2, Version 1.0.
Note: Effective January 2025, the GRL USB Power Delivery and USB Type-C™ Test Software will exclusively support the GRL-USB-PD-C2-EPR hardware. As a result of updated specification requirements, the GRL-USB-PD-C2 hardware will no longer receive software updates. Users can continue to operate the GRL-USB-PD-C2 hardware with the GRL USB Power Delivery and USB Type-C™ Test Software version SW v1.6.28.0, which remains available for download at link. For assistance with upgrading your GRL-USB-PD-C2 to the latest GRL-USB-PD-C2-EPR hardware, please contact GRL support.

- TEST.PD.PS.EPR.SRC3.2 - Enhanced validation for SPR AVS PDO request sequence.
- TEST.PD.PS.SRC.4 - Improved handling of capability mismatch bit in the request message.
- TD.4.6.3 - Updated to handle the VBUS voltage measurement for Vsafe0V condition.
- TEST.PD.PS.SRC.1 - Updated to handle the tSrcTransition timer during PDO transition.
- TEST.PD.EPR.SNK3.1 - Updated to handle the PD contract after the Exit Mode sequence.
- TD.4.7.3 - Updated to handle the Attach SRC state transition.
- TEST.PD.PS.SNK.1 - Updated to handle the current drawn for 5 seconds.
- TEST.PD.PROT.SNK.10 - Updated to handle the response message for DR Swap sequence.
- COMMON.CHECK.PD.14 - Updated to handle the tSrcRecover timer during Hard Reset sequence.
Known issues:
Software generated VIF is not compatible with the USB-IF VIF generator tool.
Instructions to update the software:

Download the software from https://graniteriverlabs.com/download-center/

Run the installer and follow the instructions on the screen.

After installing the software, update the firmware of your GRL-USB-PD-C2/C2-EPR before running any tests.
